Challenge

A medical affairs team leader of ~450 people worldwide realized that feedback on their ways of working ranked low on employee assessments consistently. In addition, the pandemic had created more clusters and less visibility across teams and identified processes that were no longer useful or making the same impact that they once were.

Solution

Using our philosophy of “people support what they build,” we developed an innovation campaign to crowdsource ideas for improvements in three categories; Tools, Teams and Processes. With a tight scope and tailored innovation platform, we set out on a three-month campaign with submissions, voting, evaluations and a collaborative design session to use the campaign data to make intelligent decisions that would impact the team.

Impact

Over two months, 153 ideas were submitted around the three categories. 12,000+ votes followed, and 1,500 evaluations were completed on the prioritized ideas. The collaborative design session following the campaign allowed all campaign data to be integrated into the final selection conversations before selecting five initiatives that best impact their working methods.

This campaign enabled the leadership team to uncover pain points within their team and, using the group genius, create an action plan co-designed and supported by over 450 people.
